Hydrangea macrophylla 'Mathilda Gutges'
Please note that these are still small.
Due to the onset of autumn conditions, the leaves of the Masja have developed some seasonal blemishes. This is normal for Autumn/winter conditions when hydrangea leaves turn off-color due to their deciduous growth habit, it can occur another times of the year if the leaves don't dry out after watering or a rain. Some customers who have never grown hydrangeas become alarmed and report various spots and discolorations they observe on the foliage. I reassure customers that this is normal. The leaves will drop off in winter/spring and fresh new unblemished leaves will begin to emerge in spring. This will continue year after year as part of the normal growth cycle
Noted for its vibrant blue flowers in acidic soil, will be a very vibrant hot pink in alkaline soils.
Hydrangeas vary in color depending on the pH of the soil.
Prefers a shaded position and moist soil.
Flowers from Spring through till Autumn.
