Hydrangea macrophylla 'Générale Vicomtesse de Vibraye' (Palest Blue).
Please note that these are currently in winter dormancy mode and some or all of last season's foliage has been shed. There are new leaf buds present and they will take off in Spring.
Due to the onset of wet Autumn conditions, the leaves of the Generals Vicomtesse hydrangea have developed some seasonal blemishes. This is normal for Autumn/winter conditions when hydrangea leaves turn off-color due to their deciduous growth habit. Some customers who have never grown hydrangeas become alarmed and report various spots and discolorations they observe on the foliage. I reassure customers that this is normal.
Noted for its pale blue mophead flowers. The leaves of this cultivar are a lighter and brighter green compared others within the macrophylla species.
Hydrangeas vary in color depending on the pH of the soil.
Prefers a shaded position and moist soil.
Flowers from Spring to Summer.
